About The Coach
|
I
am a(n):
Parent of a teenager:
although the hard part of teenager stage is done. Now we're in
the college selection, application and negotiation process, which is
(understatement of the year) more complicated than it was 35 years
ago.

Runner:
yes, a full-fledged cover-to-cover
Runners World - reading runner. I've been at it pretty hard
for
about 3 years now, and may be forced to conclude that I'm just so-so
at it. I tried to qualify for National Senior Games at 800
meters last Fall, didn't run my best, and fell just outside
qualifying. Best 5K to date: 21:00

Moderately knowledgeable)
backpacker: I like trips as lengthy as long weekends
(but not 400-mile through-hikes), primitive camping (not "car
camping," which is an oxymoron on par with "government
intelligence"), very light weight loads (thanks to my canine's
ability to haul up to 10 pounds in her doggie backpack - see
pic at right), and hiking companions who talk a lot. |

The best of all-time: Rashomon, by Akira
Kurosawa |
A Movie Fanatic: let's
face it, movies are THE art of our time - the fusion of drama,
photography, writing, music and technology.
I love watching movies and talking about movies, and have strong
opinions about what's good and what's not:
The Good
Rashomon
The Shawshank Redemption
The Lion In Winter
Pulp Fiction
The Seven Samurai
The Maltese Falcon
Run, Lola, Run
Far From Heaven
Pleasantville
The Overrated
Citizen Kane
The Natural
Lawrence of Arabia
Gone With the Wind
Star Wars (and its progeny) |
